About Me

A little about myself. I’m a Northern California based Staff Functional Architect with VMware’s Cloud Management Business Unit, focusing on Cloud Automation Engineering (and vRealize Automation in particular). I also act as the Platform Architect for the vRealize Suite, helping to ensure that vRA continues to be the lynchpin for the industry’s leading Cloud Management Platform. Before that, I was a Staff Systems Engineer with VMware’s Software-Defined Enterprise specialist team, focusing on Public Sector customers.

Prior to joining VMware, I spent 8 years as an Information Security Officer and virtualization/storage architect for a U.S. Army data center.

I hold a B.S. In Applied Networking and Systems Administration and an M.S. in Information Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY as well as MCP, MCSA, MCSE, GSEC, VCP3, VCP5-DCV, VCA-NV, VCAP6-CMA Design, VCAP6-CMA Deploy, VCIX6-CMA and CISSP certifications.

My free time (what little there is!) is spent traveling with my wife, exploring all the gastronomic and oenophilic pleasures that California has to offer, restoring my 1981 DeLorean DMC-12 (see https://www.8bitdmc.com for more info on that!) and working with Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue to foster and adopt companion parrots in need.

The opinions expressed on this site are solely mine and not those of my employer.

    1. Hi there – are you trying to connect to a vRealize Automation 7 instance by any chance? That version is not yet supported by the plugins and solutions mentioned in this post.

    1. Great question and a good reminder to update some things here! I’m no longer with VMware and as such haven’t worked much with vRA 8 in quite a few months. I’ve since joined HashiCorp and am working directly on Terraform now instead! There might be some Terraform content here if I ever get some free time 🙂
